  2. ValueFax is the first shareware fax program for the Macintosh.
  3. This is a commercial quality, full function product with QuickFax,
  4. fax driver, full reception and conversion of the fax in background,
  5. installer, and an online manual. Versions of this product have
  6. been shipping commercially under different names for several years.
  7. The basic product has been thoroughly tested in a variety of Mac
  8. configurations using a variety of Class 1 and Class 2 modems (this
  9. product will not work with modems that support Class 2.0 only or 
  10. with Apple's express modems or with Apple's Geoport modems).

  12. Why would you want to use this product?
  13.  
  14. * you bought an external fax modem for your PC but you would
  15.   also like to use it with your Mac.
  16. * you bought an external fax modem for the Mac but the software
  17.   that came with it is too "lite" for your work. The bundled
  18.   software may not even work in your configuration.
  19. * you are not happy with your current fax software because it is
  20.   old and does not have all the features of ValueFax. What's more,
  21.   your current software looks like it has been ported from its
  22.   PC (ugh!) version.
  23. * Your company owns several Macs and you are looking for a site
  24.   license instead of buying individual copies for everyone.

  27. Registration:
  28.  
  29. We are hoping that you will be pleased with the functionality
  30. and value provided by ValueFax. It is important to register the
  31. product if you want to continue to use it. This helps us continue
  32. to invest in the program and to enhance it with features that
  33. users want.

  35. Feel free to give the initial copy you downloaded to others to
  36. try but please do not share your registered copy. 
  37.  
  38. Registration fee is US $20 for individuals, US $25 for businesses.
  39. Site license fee is $5 per Macintosh ($100 minimum). That means,
  40. businesses with between 4 and 20 Macintoshes should send in
  41. US $100. Businesses with 100 Macintoshes should send in US $500
  42. and so on. Over 100 Macs, write to us. A Site license covers all
  43. Macintoshes at one street address. These include Powerbooks and
  44. Duos normally used at that address. Each person has to run the
  45. registration program, even for a site license.

  47. Please run the ValueFax registration program, fill out the
  48. information, print the form and mail it in with the fee. Please
  49. do not fax us the registration form.

  51. We are sorry but we cannot accept any credit cards. We tried
  52. setting up with some companies but VISA and MC just don't like
  53. remote sales where the person is not present to sign the slip.

  55. If you send a cheque, allow 3 to 4 weeks to receive your
  56. registration number. Also, we cannot register your product unless
  57. you send a cheque on a US bank. If you send cash, cashiers cheque,
  58. traveller's cheque or money order, your registration number will
  59. be mailed within 3 days. Depending on the load, we might even
  60. email or fax the registration number to your fax number.

  62. An unregistered copy is a fully functional version of the
  63. complete product. However, you will not be able to send more than
  64. 20 faxes using an unregistered copy. All other functionality will
  65. continue to work whether or not you register.
